IT Apprentice

About the Role

Successfully complete apprenticeship modules as outlined in the apprentice program work process. Pass all classes/exams in the SPCC Mechatronics program and complete an Associate’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering Technology. Maintain a minimum 2.00 GPA for all related instruction classes. Assist and support staff and mentors as directed.

This position may involve lifting up to 50 lbs, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending for up to 12 hours a day, and climbing ladders to heights of 10 ft.

Requirements

• High school completer or graduate
• Current GPA of 2.8 or higher (if below 2.8, a 6-month probationary status applies)
• For internal applicants: reference from a GBO supervisor/manager and proven experience with GBO demonstrating ability to enter the program
• Pass background and drug testing per GBO hiring policy
• Legal working age as required by law
• Not fully trained or qualified in the occupation for which they wish to be trained
• Physically capable of performing the work of the occupation
• Possess speaking, reading, and comprehension abilities essential for understanding instructions, including specific pre-instruction from SPCC skills and job requirements
• Complete the Accuplacer test (or current equivalent) for college admission
• Pass a pre-employment qualification exam
