About the Role
We are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our innovative team at American Airlines. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage advanced technologies to solve complex business problems and improve operational efficiencies. The successful candidate will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from initial conception through deployment and maintenance. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including business analysts, project managers, IT architects, and other developers to design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications and platforms. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience and training.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Master’s degree in computer science or related fields (advantageous).
- Prior experience in the airline industry, including familiarity with business processes and supporting technologies (preferred).
- Experience in architecting and implementing data analytics solutions in Azure, along with familiarity with Big Data BI tools like Hadoop, Azure SQL Data Warehouse.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of predictive analytics, especially Azure Machine Learning (a plus).
- Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Agile project management methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leadership and technical teams to understand business needs and develop effective solutions.
- Maintain and enhance existing enterprise services, applications, and platforms through domain-driven and test-driven development practices.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
- Assist in creating detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates, ensuring timely and within-scope delivery.
- Work closely with software architects to ensure that technical decisions align with long-term enterprise growth strategies.
- Support the development and adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and best practices.
- Research and implement new technologies to improve processes, security, and performance.
- Contribute to the continuous evolution of our technological landscape with a proactive approach to learning, problem-solving, and collaboration.
