IT Application Portfolio Analyst

About the role

The IT Application Portfolio Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing the portfolio of IT applications within the organization. This includes assessing the strategic fit, prioritizing projects, and ensuring alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an application portfolio strategy aligned with organizational objectives
• Analyze application performance and recommend improvements
• Manage application lifecycle from inception to retirement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure application compliance and security
• Conduct regular reviews and assessments of applications to identify areas for optimization
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate portfolio status and recommendations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT application management or portfolio analysis
• Experience with application lifecycle management tools and methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks
• Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera
• Understanding of cloud computing and its impact on application portfolios
• Experience with data analytics and reporting tools

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and their application to IT projects
• Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands
