IT Portfolio & Investment Analyst

About the role

This role is part of the Infrastructure & Site Services Front Office team, partnering with technology and business leaders to guide investment decisions across enterprise infrastructure capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize infrastructure initiatives by balancing value, risk, and capacity constraints.

  • Evaluate investment options and contribute recommendations, with increasing ownership of decision framing over time.

  • Partner with leadership to align on investment decisions on what work gets funded, deferred, or stopped.

  • Support and progressively take ownership of end-to-end financial planning (annual plan, forecasting, variance management).

  • Partner with Service Owners and Strategy Lead to develop and maintain multi-year lifecycle investment strategies (e.g., reliability, capacity, cyber, lifecycle refresh).

  • Improve cost transparency and cost allocation across infrastructure services.

  • Develop and refine TCO models, business cases, and cost/benefit analysis, with guidance on investment framing and decision support.

  • Translate complex financial and operational data into clear decision options for leadership.

  • Ensure decisions are grounded in economic thinking and aligned to enterprise priorities.

  • Establish and maintain portfolio-level reporting on investment allocation, spend vs. plan, and portfolio health and performance.

  • Improve visibility into capital deployment and business outcomes.

  • Strengthen governance processes to support consistent, data-driven decision-making.

  • Align portfolio commitments with resource capacity, funding constraints, and delivery feasibility.

  • Partner closely with execution and service teams to reflect real-world constraints in investment decisions.

Requirements

  • Experience in IT portfolio management, financial planning, technology finance, or investment analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience with financial modeling (TCO, ROI, cost/benefit analysis), budgeting, forecasting, and variance management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure ambiguous problems.

  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Infrastructure, Cloud, or Enterprise IT environments.

  • Familiarity with PPM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Planview).

  • Experience working with Finance partners on planning cycles and capital allocation.

  • Exposure to portfolio governance frameworks or Lean Portfolio Management practices.

Skills

  • Experience influencing decisions without formal authority.
