IT Application Analyst V - Ancillary Health
About the role
The Applications Analyst V at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for gathering business requirements, conducting needs assessments, and developing functional specifications and builds to support business objectives. This role requires expertise in Epic applications such as Beaker AP/CP, Cupid, Optime, and Anesthesia.
Responsibilities
- Performs project management for all software implementation, maintenance, and support processes.
- Collaborates with the team, other IT work groups, departments, and vendors to coordinate software building, testing, and support tasks.
- Provides technical expertise and guidance to team members and mentors staff to promote professional development.
- Participates in the development of departmental policies and procedures and in process improvement efforts.
- Facilitates communication and promotes teamwork among team members.
- Takes leadership roles in installing/upgrading new/existing applications, configuring settings, and validating work performed by lower level Application Analysts.
- Coordinates end user support activities, attends, participates in, and contributes to meetings, and runs meetings throughout the facility.
- Supports users during go-live for new applications, modules, and functionality.
- Analyzes business/clinical needs and requirements, creates system specifications from user requirements, and documents all outcomes of testing.
- Manages the day-to-day activities of assigned analysts, prioritizing work and coordinating resources.
- Works independently and manages time unsupervised, using advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete work.
- Communicates orally and in writing to project teams and other departments.
- Updates system, operational, and department documentation and recommends process improvements.
- Functions as a preceptor for new staff in the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of IT experience preferably in healthcare or related fields, or 4 years of IT experience and 2 years of clinical experience.
- Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of assigned analysts, including prioritization of work and coordination of resources.
- Uses advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete work.
- Team player and able to multi-task in a progressive environment.
- Ability to interact with all levels of healthcare professionals and staff in one-to-one settings and for group presentations.
- Ability to organize and coordinate the actions of small groups to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Works independently and effectively manages time unsupervised.
- Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Creates and maintains clear, concise documentation.
- Collaborates with other team members across the department.
- Ability to organize and coordinate the actions of a team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Demonstrates self-direction.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred
- Project Management experience.
Licenses and Certifications Required
- Epic and/or other relevant certification(s) or relevant applications experience.
Compensation
The minimum rate of $133,120 annually reflects a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting. The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer.
