About the role
Nooks is pioneering CIaaS, designing, building, and operating classified environments for defense and national security. This role serves as an internal consultant and driver of operational excellence for the US Space Force's classified security enterprise.
Key responsibilities
- Security Process Analysis and Design
- Process Mapping: Comprehensive analysis of security workflows across domains like clearance processing, SCIF accreditation, incident reporting, and classified material control.
- Efficiency Improvement: Identify and address inefficiencies, compliance gaps, and bottlenecks in existing workflows.
- Standardization: Design and implement optimized security processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and ensure consistent compliance.
- Methodology: Utilize Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve security team effectiveness while maintaining regulatory adherence.
- Documentation and Assurance
- Master SOP Suite: Develop, maintain, and revise the master suite of Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Template Creation: Create and manage standardized security templates for DD-254s, FFCs, access rosters, and internal self-inspection reports.
- Quality Control: Collaborate with the Security Compliance and Oversight SME to integrate process improvements into self-inspection and auditing programs.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead post-incident analysis to identify systemic issues and implement corrective actions.
- Technology Integration and Metrics
- Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to automate manual processes and enhance auditability.
- System Optimization: Serve as a functional lead for integrating and optimizing security management systems and physical security systems.
- KPI Development: Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for security process efficiency, compliance, and team performance.
The skillset
- Experience: 3-5 years of broad, hands-on experience in security, working across PERSEC, PHYSEC, INFOSEC, and INDUSEC.
- Process Expertise: Proven experience in process improvement, standardization, or quality assurance within highly regulated compliance environments.
- Regulatory Expertise: Deep knowledge of NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117 and applicable ICDs.
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI eligibility and U.S. citizenship required.
- Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, translating complex regulatory requirements into efficient processes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certification: SPeD Certification or experience with Lean, Six Sigma.
- System Proficiency: Proficient with DISS, NISS, and enterprise software tools for document control or workflow management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Security Management, Business Process, Quality Assurance).
