About the role

The ISAS is seeking to hire up to 2 Senior Scientific Specialists, Archaeology positions. These roles will review, analyze, and manage archaeological and other IDOT cultural resource project data, environmental survey requests, and project notifications for the ISAS Transportation section. The position is based at the ISAS Western Illinois Field Station in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and manage archaeological and other IDOT cultural resource project data
• Analyze environmental survey requests
• Manage project notifications

Requirements

• Advanced degree in archaeology or related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience with cultural resource management
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Knowledge of archaeological methods and techniques
• Experience with GIS software
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
