About the role

The LDAR Monitoring Technician is responsible for accurately monitoring components on an assigned route within an industrial facility using an analyzer and electronic data recorder. This role involves calibrating equipment, identifying leaks, and processing leak tags. Transitioning military personnel are encouraged to apply, as this is a great opportunity to leverage your skills in civilian life.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate initiative and plan work without detailed instructions; prepare for problems or opportunities in advance.
  • Use a portable analyzer and electronic data collector to monitor components in an industrial environment.
  • Analyze data, evaluate situations, and identify problems or opportunities, including likely causes.
  • Meet internal and external customer needs while considering available resources.
  • Adapt quickly to change and consider new approaches to solving problems.
  • Develop logical courses of action considering resources, constraints, and company values.
  • Perform monitoring activities for an assigned route within a prescribed period, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Calibrate equipment and make minor mechanical adjustments as needed.
  • Identify leaks and process leak tags.
  • Complete daily uploads of monitoring activity to the customer database and prepare daily emissions monitoring reports (basic computer knowledge required).
  • Communicate daily equipment changes with office personnel and coordinate with plant personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong communication (written, verbal, and listening) and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in chemical plants or refineries is helpful but not required.
  • Willingness and ability to work at moderate to high levels of physical exertion for extended periods.
  • Willingness and ability to work in inclement weather conditions (extreme heat/cold).
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities are a plus.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Valid TWIC required or ability to obtain TWIC.
