HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is seeking an LDAR Technician to join their safety-focused team. This role is ideal for transitioning military personnel looking to leverage their skills in a civilian environment.

About the role

The LDAR Monitoring Technician uses an analyzer and electronic data recorder to monitor components on assigned routes within industrial facilities. Responsibilities include equipment calibration, leak detection, and data reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate initiative by planning and executing tasks with minimal supervision; prepare for potential problems or opportunities in advance.
  • Operate a portable analyzer and electronic data collector to monitor components and detect emissions in industrial environments.
  • Analyze data, evaluate situations, and identify problems or opportunities, including determining likely causes.
  • Meet internal and external customer needs while working within available resources.
  • Adapt quickly to change and consider new approaches to solving problems.
  • Develop logical courses of action, considering resources, constraints, and company values.
  • Perform monitoring activities for assigned routes within prescribed timeframes, ensuring accurate reporting of all components.
  • Calibrate equipment for optimal performance and make minor mechanical adjustments as needed.
  • Identify leaks and process leak tags.
  • Complete daily uploads of monitoring activity to the customer database and prepare daily emissions monitoring reports (basic computer knowledge required).
  • Communicate daily equipment changes with office personnel and coordinate with plant personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong communication (written, verbal, and listening) and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in chemical plants or refineries is helpful but not required.
  • Willingness and ability to work at moderate to high levels of physical exertion for extended periods.
  • Willingness and ability to work in inclement weather conditions (extreme heat/cold).
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities are a plus.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Valid TWIC required or ability to obtain TWIC.
