About the Role
The IS Technician II is responsible for the installation, configuration, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computers, terminals, printers, and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provides support with the installation, configuration, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computers, mobile devices, printers, cameras, and other equipment.
- Installs and maintains software and hardware; upgrades, repairs, and replaces computer-related equipment.
- Coordinates work orders and assists IS Tech I’s with day-to-day planning.
- Maintains an up-to-date inventory of computer equipment; assists IS Tech Manager with site audits and reviews.
- Trains other technicians in safe methods of cabling IT infrastructure in new buildings and remodel/construction zones.
- Ensures patch panels and server racks are properly installed and cables are punched down correctly.
- Provides training and instruction to personal computer users and the IS Technician team on proper methods and procedures.
- Assists the IS Technician Manager in planning, installation, and maintenance of network and computer infrastructure.
- Creates and maintains a preventative maintenance schedule for computer-related equipment.
- Purchases computer-related hardware and software equipment; assists users in resolving issues.
- Assists IS Technician Manager with work order audits and reviews for other technicians.
- Maintains the organization’s security camera systems.
- Assists IS Leadership with project management.
- Adheres to the Attendance and Absenteeism Policy; ability to work at any FHCN location as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Effective June 1, 2026, all individuals hired must possess work-related skills beyond high school, including formal written and verbal communication, computational, and computer skills.
- Proof of high school completion with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or GED with a minimum score of 162.5; health care-related knowledge acquired through trade school, para-professional, or certificate programs is preferred.
- Associate’s Degree preferred; specific knowledge and training in computer systems and repairs or equivalent work experience required.
- CompTIA Network+ certification required.
- Valid CA driver’s license and car insurance required.
Skills
- Technical Skills: Ability to prepare complex documents in Microsoft Word (tables, charts, graphs), use Microsoft Excel (formulas, functions, lookup tables), and create basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Communications Skills: Ability to compile information in effective written form (reports, correspondence) and convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
IS Tech I’s will automatically progress to IS Tech II upon obtaining:
- CompTIA Network+ certification and an AA/AS degree or above plus one year of work experience as an IS Tech I, or
- Three years of service within the FHCN MIS department and a CompTIA Network+ certification.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, use repetitive hand movements, stand, walk, stoop, reach, squat, climb, and lift/move up to 30 pounds.
- Must work in varying environmental conditions, including cold and hot weather.
- Must travel between sites and other non-FHCN locations.
Pay
Hourly rate: $23.34 – $34.17
