About the role

This position is ideal for transitioning military personnel looking to leverage their skills in a safety-conscious civilian role. The Hydro Blaster/Field Technician will execute HPC-Industrial jobs across all service lines while prioritizing health and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a safety representative, ensuring compliance with company and customer safety policies and procedures, including operations, emergency response, and administrative functions.
  • Operate manual and automated hydro-blasting equipment, ultra-high-pressure pumps, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment.
  • Examine cleaned surfaces to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on company equipment used on the job.
  • For supervisory roles: Interface with customer representatives to confirm job setup and scope, ensure performance meets or exceeds requirements, and implement company policies at the job site.
  • Report to the branch manager or designee and execute procedures to achieve specified results.

Physical Demands

  • See, read, and distinguish signs in the work area; hear and recognize emergency signals.
  • Perform a 180-degree rotary motion of the cervical spine for full head and neck movement.
  • Extend arms above head; frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and crawl.
  • Tolerate being wet from head to toe for extended periods.
  • Climb ladders and work from scaffolding or platforms up to 200 feet high.
  • Work in confined spaces with a minimum 5-foot inside diameter.
  • Hold the back thrust of 50 lbs on a straight 66” pipe for a minimum of 1 hour.
  • Work up to 16 hours per shift.
  • Use negative pressure and air-supplied respirators.
  • Wear protective clothing and equipment, including Nomex coveralls, back belts, slickers, rubber boots, fresh air breathing masks, escape packs, and hard hats.
  • Work in extreme climate conditions, including high heat (95°F with 98% humidity) and sub-zero temperatures.
  • Exposure to dust (chemical and environmental), fumes, exhaust, and highly pressurized fluids (respirators provided when required).
  • Tolerate noise levels exceeding 85 dBA (hearing protection provided and required).
  • Lift and maintain a minimum of 40 lbs.

Requirements

  • Specific vocational preparation, including classroom safety training, on-the-job training, and essential experience.
  • English language proficiency to comprehend safety training and respond to emergency instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license and compliance with company driving policy when operating company or personal vehicles for business.
  • Knowledge of emergency equipment operation, such as fire extinguishers.
  • Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
