About the role

HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is seeking a Hydro Blaster/Field Technician to join their safety-conscious team. This position is ideal for transitioning military personnel who wish to leverage their skills and training in a civilian setting.

Responsibilities

  • Act as safety representative, overseeing safety policies and procedures for both the company and the customer, including hands-on information about operations, safety, equipment, emergency response, and administrative functions.
  • Operate manual and automated hydro-blasting equipment, as well as special equipment like ultra-high-pressure pumps.
  • Operate and energize pumping equipment and specialized hydro-blasting and chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment.
  • Examine surfaces cleaned to ensure they meet company and customer specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on company equipment used on the job.
  • Interface with customer representatives regarding job setup and scope, ensuring performance and customer requirements are met or exceeded, and implementing company policies and procedures at the job site.
  • Report to the branch manager or designated representative and implement procedures to achieve results specified by the branch manager.

Requirements

  • Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training, on-the-job training, and essential experience gained on other jobs.
  • Valid driver's license and compliance with company driving policy.
  • Knowledge of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment, including Nomex coveralls, a back belt, slickers, rubber boots, a fresh air breathing mask, an escape pack, and a hard hat.
  • Physical capabilities to lift and maintain a minimum of 40lbs, perform 180-degree rotary motion of the cervical spine, and tolerate working in confined spaces.

Qualifications

  • Language proficiency: Understands English at a level to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment, including Nomex coveralls, a back belt, slickers, rubber boots, a fresh air breathing mask, an escape pack, and a hard hat.

Skills

Strong physical fitness, ability to work in various weather conditions, and knowledge of emergency equipment are essential.
