Irrigation Technician

About the role

This position is for a golf course irrigation technician at Alta Vista Country Club. Prior golf course or landscape irrigation experience is a must. If you don't have any experience in irrigation you should not apply. This is not a beginners job. You will be in charge of all aspects of irrigation of the golf course.

Responsibilities

• Irrigating turf
• Fixing irrigation issues
• Hand watering greens
• Running the central control irrigation system
• Maintaining lake features i.e.: fountains and timers
• Maintain and repair irrigation systems, including sprinklers, pipes, valves, and controllers
• Monitor water usage and adjust irrigation schedules as needed
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of irrigation technicians
• Periodic chemical application
• Ensure compliance with local water regulations and conservation practices

Requirements

• Prior golf course or landscape irrigation experience
• Knowledge and experience in plumbing principles
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise a team effectively
• Familiarity with grounds keeping techniques and equipment
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills to interact with team members and clients

Qualifications

Previous experience in Landscape Maintenance, Golf Course Maintenance preferred
