Irrigation Technician

About the role

We are looking for hardworking, dedicated, and customer-centric people to join our team in a hands-on Irrigation Specialist position. This role involves producing irrigation repairs and other incidental irrigation and water management work, setting a positive example of behavior, attitude, and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Accurately diagnose irrigation equipment problems.
• Excavate with skill and know where to dig.
• Communicate using industry terms.
• Follow common diagnostic instructions from senior specialists.
• Program the following controllers and know their working/default modes: Irritrol MC series, MC+A, MC+B, Dial A/B, Rainmaster Centar, and Evolution series.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of irrigation design, including pipe class and valve identification (Hardie 100, Series 700, Weathermatic plastic series, Rainbird DV series).
• Identify and work with irrigation heads (Hunter PGP, PGH, I series, Toro 570, Rainbird 1800 series).
• Identify nozzles and understand their usage.
• Apply knowledge of basic hydraulics, including valve size, flow demand, static and dynamic PSI, and their impact on performance.
• Assist in performing irrigation system checks, repairs, or upgrades for proper coverage and efficient water utilization.
• Assist in repairs of large-scale irrigation breaks, main line repairs, valve repairs and replacements, track electrical shorts in remote controller programs, lateral line repairs, and irrigation head replacements and adjustments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 1 year of landscape maintenance experience (preferred).
• 2 years of irrigation experience (required).
• Valid driver’s license (required).
• Ability to effectively understand and communicate with managers and fellow crew members.
