Irrigation Technician

Duties

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as pipe puller, and wire tracker.
• Perform spring startups, summer system inspections and fall blowouts independently for residential and commercial systems with well and town water source.
• Conduct routine inspections of irrigation components to identify overall operational health and effectiveness of the system.
• Adjust and calibrate sprinkler heads and controllers to ensure even coverage and water conservation.
• Afford landscape maintenance tasks including lawn care, horticulture, and general landscaping duties outside of irrigation season.
• Operate within Outerland's snow program as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used for each project or service call.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.

Requirements

• Mechanical knowledge with experience working on irrigation systems.
• Familiarity with landscape maintenance, lawn care, horticulture, and general landscaping practices.
• Experience with two wire as well as multi strand systems.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and landscape equipment such as mini skidsteer, stand on mowers.
• Knowledge of irrigation principles and system components including valves, controllers, pipes, and sprinklers.
• Proficiency in the setup and operation of Hydrawise controllers and other WIFI based platforms.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints related to landscape projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing system issues.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor including digging, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
