Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair irrigation systems including controllers, valves, sprinkler heads, rotors, drip lines, and backflow devices.
- Diagnose electrical and hydraulic irrigation issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Program and adjust irrigation controllers based on seasonal requirements and weather conditions.
- Perform system startups and seasonal inspections.
- Repair damaged irrigation lines caused by grave preparation or landscaping activities.
- Clock irrigation scheduling to avoid interference with funeral services and visitors.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, adjustments, and system updates.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and local water management guidelines.
- Operate trenching tools, pipe cutters, and other related equipment safely.
- Notify crew supervisor immediately of unsafe working conditions or practices observed in the area
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- At least 2 years of landscape irrigation experience is required.
- Experience working in a cemetery, park, or large landscaped property is preferred.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, wiring, valves, controllers, programming, and water pressure management is required.
- The ability to read irrigation plans and blueprints is necessary.
- A valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent bending, kneeling, digging, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and uneven ground and landscape slopes.
- Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
