Irrigation Technician

About the role

The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the repair and replacement of irrigation systems. They perform a variety of mechanical and electrical tests on irrigation systems, assemblies, and parts to ensure the units are operating properly.

Responsibilities

• Accurately diagnose irrigation equipment problems
• Provide accurate reports, controller mapping, and chart descriptions
• Program standard and smart controllers
• Troubleshoot and repair irrigation valves, heads, laterals, mainline, and controllers
• Respond to after-hours emergency calls
• Work with drip systems
• Conduct walk-throughs with Account Manager and fellow employees
• Work safely
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to effectively understand and communicate with the manager and fellow crewmembers
• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
• 1 year of irrigation experience (Required)
• 1 year of landscape maintenance experience (Preferred)
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
• Valid California driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the Company’s insurance carrier
• Desire to excel, be punctual, and helpful
• Interest in learning new skills and growing with the company

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and pulling
• Ability to operate power equipment
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
