Irrigation Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, including valves, pipes, sprinkler heads, drip systems, controllers, and pumps.
• Troubleshoot irrigation issues and identify system malfunctions.
• Program and adjust irrigation controllers and timers based on seasonal and weather conditions.
• Perform routine system inspections to ensure proper coverage and water efficiency.
• Install new irrigation components and system upgrades as needed.
• Monitor water usage and recommend improvements for conservation and efficiency.
• Respond to irrigation-related service requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles used in irrigation work.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, or landscaping is preferred.
• Knowledge of irrigation controllers, valves, pumps, and sprinkler systems is required.
• The ability to diagnose and repair irrigation system issues is essential.
• The ability to read irrigation plans, maps, and schematics is necessary.
• A basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems related to irrigation is helpful.
• A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
