In this hands-on role, you’ll assist with everything from mowing and landscaping to irrigation system upkeep, repairs, and setting up for community events. You’ll operate a variety of tools and equipment, inspect facilities, and help maintain the natural beauty and functionality of Midland’s outdoor spaces. Essential Job Duties
- Aid in performing routine park maintenance.
- Inspect parks and athletic areas and facilities for repairs.
- Aid with construction projects as necessary.
- Install and maintain irrigation systems.
- Operate and maintain equipment used in daily operations.
- Fill out reports and submit to supervision.
- Help with set up of special events and sports tournaments.
- Work weekends and evenings as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Sit, stand, and transport self from building to building.
- Drive a vehicle to and from various work-sites.
- Work in seasonal temperatures, bending, lifting, and moving pieces of equipment to complete work or make repairs on parks equipment.
- May be exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals while maintaining parks.
Required Qualifications
- Communicate with other employees in the work group and respond to questions from the general public regarding services or specific projects.
- Read and understand work orders and equipment manuals.
- Operate hand tools and equipment such as mowers, tractors, gas-powered trimmers, saws, and other gardening and maintenance tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid Texas Driver's License, CDL preferred.
