Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Commercial Banking Relationship Manager within our Investor Real Estate (IRE) segment, supporting clients with annual revenue of $100MM and up in the Iowa & Nebraska markets as part of the Commercial Bank.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, retain, and grow highly complex client relationships through relationship management, understanding client needs, responding quickly, communicating proactively, managing expectations, and soliciting feedback.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to guide and influence others in growing relationships.
  • Serve as a top subject matter expert, leading highly complex and high-impact solutions related to cash flow, real estate loans, and other industry-specific financial products.
  • Analyze financial statements and data to develop strategic recommendations and present findings to clients.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across multiple departments to ensure seamless execution of client solutions.
  • Build and manage a complex portfolio of Investor Real Estate (IRE) relationships, driving growth and profitability.
  • Navigate high-risk scenarios with sound judgment and strategic insight, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Influence enterprise-level decisions through deep industry knowledge and financial acumen.
  • Lead the strategy and resolution for the full suite of most complex solutions offered by Wells Fargo to commercial clients, engaging product organizations to develop long-term, large-scale client-specific solutions.
  • Provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise regarding Commercial Banking Relationship Management company-wide strategies.
  • Strategically lead all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise to improve processes, resolve client issues, and represent the company externally as an expert.
  • Act as a mentor for less experienced colleagues.
  • Drive relationship planning activities to deliver the full suite of solutions and maintain sales and pipeline disciplines.
  • Strategically lead and support Business Development Representatives in sourcing new Commercial Banking clients by cultivating relationships through existing networks.
  • Partner with Commercial Lending Product Management to provide vision, leadership, and expertise on client and market needs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the origination and management of loans across multiple asset classes, including multi-family, industrial, hospitality, retail, self-storage, and office properties.
  • Deep understanding of the commercial real estate industry and local markets.
  • Established professional network within Iowa & Nebraska and the surrounding metropolitan area.
  • Expertise in investor real estate loan structures, including documentation negotiation and successful loan closings.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a complex portfolio of Investor Real Estate (IRE) relationships.
  • Strong background in business development, with a track record of successful Investor Real Estate (IRE) relationship management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of core banking products and services, such as commercial lending and treasury management.
  • Completion of a formal credit training program.
  • Commercial banking account relationship management experience within the $100MM to $2B segment.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively to deliver the organization to clients and prospects.
  • Demonstrated experience generating new client relationships, building and retaining long-term client relationships.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating risk, ensuring compliance with processes and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
