Responsibilities
- Responsible for setting up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted.
- Utilizes customer service skills while interacting with patients as well as family members to create a caring atmosphere during their visit.
- Progresses towards proficient and competent performance with regards to interventional procedures, fluoroscopy room equipment, digital subtraction, inventory, power injections and post processing tools.
- Prepares room and patient specific to the exam to be performed.
- Arranges equipment, trays, supplies, position patients, and determine proper exposure factors to produce a high quality image.
- Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider.
- Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure.
- Observes each patient’s status and interprets appropriate information needed to meet age-specific needs.
- Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
- Completes and bills for studies accurately.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
Qualifications
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist upon hire required
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification with CE credits upon hire required
