IR Special Procedure Tech Senior PRN Days

About the role

The Senior Special Procedure Tech works under limited supervision to provide direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures. Duties include assisting physicians, delivering quality patient/family centered care, performing tasks such as IV starts, prep patients, monitoring hemodynamics, operating equipment, documenting procedures, managing vascular access sites, and providing patient/family education.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures.
• Aids physicians in procedures, ensuring smooth operations.
• Maintains hemodynamic stability during procedures.
• Operates necessary medical equipment and documents procedures accurately.
• Manages vascular access sites effectively.
• Conducts patient/family education sessions.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT) for Interventional Radiology.
• Graduation from Cardiovascular Technologist program, associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education for Cath Lab/EP Lab.
• More than 3+ years of Interventional experience.
• Expertise in clinical skills across departments and/or sites.

Qualifications

• Interventional Radiology: BLS certification and active RT status upon hire, and an RT-CV or VI registration.
• Cath Lab: BLS and ACLS upon hire, Registered RCES/RCIS/RT certification, and IABP certification.
• EP Lab: BLS and ACLS upon hire, Registered RCIS/RCES/RT certification.

Skills

• Proficiency in operating medical equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
