IR RN

Department: Interventional Radiology. Shift: Days, 8 or 10 hours. Call requirement: 12-15 shifts over a 6 week period, including weekends. Position covers all vascular access.

About the role

As an Interventional Radiology RN, use nursing expertise to deliver patient care with the healthcare team. Tasks include evaluating health, identifying issues, creating care plans, and tracking treatment responses. Help patients navigate their healthcare safely. Use knowledge of needs to prevent issues.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize patient and family needs by developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans, adjusting as needed.
• Create a safe environment for patients, families, and staff, maintaining confidentiality and voicing patient concerns when necessary.
• Manage learning for patients and families, and support the growth of nursing staff.
• Promote knowledge sharing within the healthcare team and community.
• Partner effectively with team members and the community to implement cohesive care plans.
• Recognize limited resources and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care.
• Encourage professional growth by fostering a positive work environment, supporting peers' professional development, and participating in continued education and community service.

Requirements

• A basic understanding of patient care practices, medical terminology, medications, and equipment used in interventional radiology nursing.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse groups effectively.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities for optimal patient care.
• Ability to track changes in patients' health and communicate clearly with nurses and doctors.
• Basic computer skills, particularly knowledge of electronic medical documentation systems and email.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
• Major field of study: Nursing.
• Must be a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
