About the role
The Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. It provides a competitive platform of quality services to enable others who share similar aspirations and purpose to achieve their individual and organisational aims. As a Trustee, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the IOL is run in the interests of the people it supports.
Responsibilities
- Strategically oversee the management and administration of the organisation.
- Provide advice and supervision for the Chief Executive Officer and team.
- Fulfill the organisational governance and inform the strategic direction for the IOL.
- Understand the needs and priorities of the membership through the IOL Round Table steering group.
- Support the future development of the charity by championing outdoor learning and supporting dedicated individuals within the field.
Requirements
Voluntary – Time commitment minimum 4 days (30 hours) per year. Each Trustee has an Area of Focus:
- Secretary: Community Fundraising & Projects

Pay
Voluntary – No financial compensation.
