Investment Professional - Corporate Research Analyst

About the role
Nationwide Investments employs a research-driven, team-oriented, and results-focused investment process to manage client portfolios. Credit Research is one of three critical functions in the investment process, alongside Portfolio Management and Trading. As an Investment Professional on the Investment Grade Credit Research team, you will identify, analyze, and recommend investments within the Investment Grade bond market. You will also drive and monitor investment strategies in assigned sectors, with a clear understanding of broader investment markets. As a potential people leader, you may oversee team performance and manage individual associates.
Responsibilities
- Perform research and analysis to support the team’s investment decision-making process, contributing to the development of investment strategies within assigned sectors.
- Cover investments with higher complexity, requiring an advanced understanding of credit markets.
- Identify innovative solutions and make decisions impacting the function or investment portfolio, with guidance on complex judgments.
- Identify risk and return drivers, develop forward-looking scenarios, analyze relative value, and provide investment recommendations for assigned sectors.
- Communicate analysis and investment theses through written reports, presentations, conversations, and market meetings.
- Evaluate changes in economic, regulatory, legislative, and competitive environments that impact investment fundamentals, valuations, and client portfolio positioning.
- Build relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate investment opportunity analysis.
- Collaborate with other Nationwide Investment groups to advance clients’ best interests.
- May serve as a people leader within the asset class, leading a small team of Investment Analysts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; MBA or CFA preferred.
- 6 to 10 years of related investment experience.
Skills
- Proficient in Excel; Bloomberg experience is a plus.

Pay
National salary range for this role: $119,000–$199,000. Expected starting salary range: $119,000–$199,000.
Schedule
3 days in office, 2 days remote.
Reports to a Senior Investment Professional. Some travel may be required. Due to fiduciary accountabilities, a valid credit check and/or background check will be required as part of the selection process. Normal office environment; exempt position (not eligible for overtime).
