About the role

Faegre Drinker is seeking a partner-track Associate with 3-8 years of experience to join our Investment Management Practice Group in our New York office. This is an opportunity to join a nationally recognized investment management practice advising sophisticated institutional investors, private funds, and other market participants on a broad range of fund investment, structuring, regulatory, governance, and transactional matters.

The Associate will work with a collaborative, cross-office team on complex private markets transactions involving private equity, hedge, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure, credit, and other alternative investment strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Represent pension plans, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and other institutional investors in connection with investments in private funds and related investment vehicles.
  • Conduct fund due diligence, negotiate subscription agreements, side letters, investment management agreements, separate account arrangements, co-investments, continuation vehicles, secondaries transactions, and other investment-related documentation.
  • Handle matters at the intersection of investment management and structured finance, including securitizations, asset-backed finance, rated note feeder structures, fund finance, credit funds, structured products, or other private credit transactions.

Requirements

  • 3-8 years of experience in investment management, private funds, or related transactional work.
  • Substantive experience representing institutional investors in private fund investments.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and client counseling skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a practical, proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to manage sophisticated matters in a fast-paced, client-service-oriented environment.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Pay

The anticipated initial annual compensation range for this position is $260,000 – $435,000. Actual initial salary may vary based on relevant skills, training, experience, and location, consistent with applicable law.

Total compensation includes productivity and discretionary bonuses.
