Responsibilities
- Accurate and timely accounting, reporting, controls, analysis, and process support related to various investment types.
- Partner with Finance, Treasury, Portfolio Management, Actuarial, Operations, external auditors, and other business partners to ensure compliance with statutory accounting, U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to corporate and capital planning activities by providing financial insights and addressing emerging issues to management.
- Proactively research, investigate, and recommend improvements in areas that could benefit the company financially.
- Drive process improvements within the department to enhance efficiency and focus on value-added activities.
- Facilitate efficient, accurate, and timely completion of internal and external audits and inquiries.
- Manage a team of professionals through selection, training, motivation, and performance management.
- Plan, assign, monitor, and adjust workload as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- Certified Public Accountant designation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced specialized knowledge of insurance statutory accounting related to investments.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team of professionals.
- Proficiency with Excel and ability to learn other software applications specific to the job.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Minimal travel required.
