Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely accounting, reporting, controls, analysis, and process support related to various investment types.
  • Partner with Finance, Treasury, Portfolio Management, Actuarial, Operations, external auditors, and other business partners to ensure compliance with statutory accounting, U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory expectations.
  • Contribute to corporate and capital planning activities by providing financial insights and addressing emerging issues to management.
  • Proactively research, investigate, and recommend improvements in areas that could benefit the company financially.
  • Drive process improvements within the department to enhance efficiency and focus on value-added activities.
  • Facilitate efficient, accurate, and timely completion of internal and external audits and inquiries.
  • Manage a team of professionals through selection, training, motivation, and performance management.
  • Plan, assign, monitor, and adjust workload as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced specialized knowledge of insurance statutory accounting related to investments.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team of professionals.
  • Proficiency with Excel and ability to learn other software applications specific to the job.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Minimal travel required.
