Investment Accountant

Job Description: Pay Rate: $50.00/hour Contract Length: 2-3 months Location: Remote Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM MST Hours: 8 hours per day, plus an unpaid lunch About The Role We are seeking a Investment Accountant to provide operational and accounting support to our Investments team during a team member's leave of absence. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role centered on transaction processing, preparation of accounting entries, and general investment accounting support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and comfortable working through repetitive processes while following established procedures accurately and consistently. What You'll Do Prepare manual investment trade tickets using information provided by the Investment and Operations teams.Prepare valuation and other investment-related journal entries for review and approval.Assist with transaction processing and recurring investment accounting activities.Review supporting documentation to ensure information is complete and consistent before processing.Maintain organized documentation and files for accounting and transaction activity.Locate investment documents, reports, historical support, and other files as requested.Gather information from multiple sources and compile supporting materials for accounting, reporting, audit, and management requests.Assist with reconciliations, research, and follow-up on routine differences or outstanding items.Complete recurring daily, monthly, and quarterly tasks in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.Provide ad hoc support to the Investment Accounting team as priorities arise.Escalate questions, discrepancies, or unusual items to the appropriate team member for review. What You'll Bring Experience in accounting, finance, investment operations, or a related field.Working knowledge of basic accounting concepts, including journal entries and reconciliations.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Ability to perform repetitive, process-oriented work consistently and accurately.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines.Ability to follow established procedures and ask questions when information is incomplete or unclear.Comfort working with spreadsheets, reports, and supporting documentation.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Accounting and Operations teams. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.Prior experience in investment accounting, investment operations, banking, financial services, or a similar environment.Experience preparing journal entries, processing investment transactions, or working with investment accounting systems is a plus, but not required.
