Responsibilities

• Supervise Investigator 1s.
• Train newly hired Investigator 1s.
• Manage workflow and prioritize assignments.
• Prepare materials for and provide technical assistance and training to cemeteries, including public presentations, attending meetings of cemetery boards, and other small-group or one-on-one training.
• Supervise Investigator 1s in their efforts to work with local officials, cemeteries, and others to help prevent abandonment of cemeteries.
• Review determinations that cemeteries are abandoned.
• Supervise investigations and resolution of significant or complex cemetery complaints.
• Review Investigator 1 recommendations to the Cemetery Board concerning cemetery applications for public mausoleums, lawn crypts, major renovations, land sales or purchases, and other matters requiring cemetery board approval.
• Participate in site inspections of crematories, and as needed, cemeteries, on a routine basis or in connection with specific complaints or requests.
• Position requires upwards of 80% travel which will comprise largely of day trips.
• Respond to inquiries concerning cemetery operations.
• Review reports of Investigator 1s on applications for funds to restore vandalism damage, repair hazardous monuments, or for deferred maintenance at abandoned cemeteries.
