Investigative photojournalist
About the role
KTVB, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in Boise, Idaho, is seeking an experienced Investigative Photojournalist to join our award-winning staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in shooting and editing visually exciting content for television, social media, and digital platforms under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Safely and responsibly use and maintain company newsgathering equipment to craft compelling investigative stories, live shots, general news, sports, and feature stories for our broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.
- Collaborate with a variety of news journalists daily to develop a comprehensive and cohesive vision for stories.
- Pitch strong, enterprise stories in daily content meetings.
- Utilize effective news judgment and troubleshooting skills to deliver creative content before deadlines.
- Represent KTVB and TEGNA professionally in a variety of public scenarios.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in photojournalism and professional story editing.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- The ability to lift camera gear up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 80 lbs., with or without accommodation.
- Flexibility to work mornings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
Requirements
- FAA Part 107 Pilot’s license with experience operating a drone for newsgathering.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, & Photoshop).
- Competency in operating mirrorless cameras, gimbal cameras, and other specialized newsgathering equipment.
