We are seeking an Investigations Security Specialist who resides in the San Francisco, CA or surrounding area.

About the role

As an Investigations Security Specialist, you will work with the Investigations and Physical Security (PS) teams to prevent and respond to security matters that seek to harm Citizens colleagues, customers, assets, and reputation. This includes supporting the ongoing success of the Investigations function by providing an independent and objective investigations service throughout the organization. You will participate in a variety of investigations and support the investigations team across the bank. A comprehensive understanding of facility security systems, including intrusion, access control, and video monitoring platforms, is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incidents such as robberies, customer threats, irate customers, workplace violence, burglaries, vandalism, and any other physical security matters.
  • Provide executive protection and event security, with an emphasis on services at the executive level, including conducting security advance work and intelligence gathering prior to scheduled events.
  • Ensure security-related incidents and risk issues are properly escalated to higher levels of management for awareness and response.
  • Draft quality investigations reporting, summarizing the investigation, details, interviews, key findings, and recommendations.
  • Conduct investigations in all areas of the bank in a timely, professional, and accurate manner.
  • Prioritize workload to ensure investigations are undertaken in a timely and cost-effective manner while administering appropriate application of banking law, including expedient tracing, freezing, and recovery of funds.
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships across multiple business areas and externally with industry peers and law enforcement.
  • Promote effective prevention and incident management practices throughout the footprint.
  • Provide metrics, executive reports, and briefings where appropriate.
  • Ensure PS and Corporate Security risks are properly identified, evaluated, recorded, and mitigated with action plans.
  • Support the delivery of security projects and programs, acting with autonomy and within the agreed budget structure.
  • Drive PS initiatives and strategies, promoting and maintaining an open culture and sharing of information at all levels.
  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of PS policy, standards, and guidelines.
  • Perform risk assessments to determine security threats and ensure adequate security measures are deployed.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of relative experience in investigations and law enforcement function.
  • Experience working in physical security services or similar function, particularly on alarm and camera systems, incident response, and threat assessments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of executive protection principles and operations.
  • Awareness of legal, statutory, and regulatory environments, especially as they relate to investigations within banking institutions.
  • Experience interviewing internal and external parties.
  • Working knowledge of investigative or research capabilities, search engines, open-source intelligence, and criminal history checks.
  • Experience working on standards and policies.
  • Experience and understanding of working in a financial services environment.
  • Experience in completing comprehensive security reviews and risk analysis reports.
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Travel required throughout the footprint.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
  • Security Management or relevant experience preferred.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours per week).

Pay

The salary range for this position is $170,000–$230,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn additional incentive earnings (if applicable). Actual pay is based on various factors including, but not limited to, the budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience.
