Inventory Technician

This position reports to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for performing various duties including researching, analyzing, and correcting inventory discrepancies; generating reports, cycle counting, residuals, and other inventory control related functions. You will also direct inventory department WH2/3 employees.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records and submit reports in a timely manner.
• Perform cycle counts for all locations (Reserve, Case Pick, and Active).
• Research errors for trends and implement corrective actions.
• Prioritize and create cycle count tasks.
• Follow system-designated directions by RF to ensure accurate selection and movement of product.
• Direct and follow up with workforce to ensure assignments are completed.
• Review and ensure compliance with all inventory guidelines as indicated by the system.
• Direct workforce during shifts, ensuring adherence to Inventory SOPs.
• Motivate employees and monitor timely return from breaks and lunch.
• Accurately document variances on cycle counts, cases in 10 and 15 status, and mixed locations.
• Ensure SOPs are accurate and up to date.
• Complete system transactions for shipping loads.
• Investigate high scrap rates for work orders and close/actualize all work orders.
• Reconcile rework activities and assist with month-end closing by researching and clearing negative balances.
• Provide feedback to the Warehouse Manager for employee performance reviews.
• Maintain working relationships with planners, deployment, traffic, and other corporate partners.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of pallets and order when necessary.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety rules, including safe operation of equipment.
• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, DOT, and EEOC.
• Attend and participate in operational meetings as required.
• Maintain business confidentiality regarding picking, promotions, distribution methods, inventory, customer lists, and financial reports.
• Ability to read, count, write, and perform simple math calculations.
• Handle all products carefully to avoid damage.
• Learn technical material to accomplish necessary objectives.
• Moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity; regularly stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and get on/off equipment throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one (1) year of related experience in a warehouse environment.
• Strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
• Willingness to become certified in the operation of various types of warehouse equipment, including a forklift.
• Good oral and written communication skills; bilingual preferred.
• Available to work overtime, various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to become certified in Hazardous Material handling.
• Able to work with, create, and change SOPs for process and quality improvements.
• Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
