Inventory Specialist

About the role
As an Inventory Specialist, you will accurately document and track all finished products within state-mandated inventory tracking systems (METRC or equivalent) and internal tracking systems. You will coordinate inventory before and after packaging, testing, and sales fulfillment, and serve as a point-of-contact for company sales representatives. This role requires a flexible schedule and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and adaptability.
Responsibilities
- Assist in inventory control based on company standards and state regulations:
- Document and enter all inventory from production kitchen into METRC or other state-specific inventory tracking system
- Clearly label all inventory
- Perform daily audits of physical inventory
- Collaborate with Inventory Supervisor or Manager on inventory levels and packaging planning
- Log all transfers from inventory items into finished packaged sellable units
- Fulfill orders, complete manifest documentation, and facilitate product intake/outtake with sales representatives
- Receive, stage, and coordinate the flow of raw materials throughout the facility
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory vault and ensure a safe working environment
- Effectively communicate information and respond to questions/suggestions from various levels within the company
- Report any damaged, spoiled, broken, unusable, or unsatisfactory product or equipment to supervisors
- Communicate discrepancies in quantities or quality of product
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs
Requirements
- At least 1 year of directly related experience in an inventory, analyst, or logistics role, preferably in the food or beverage industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (core applications), Google, Slack; experience in Jira or other management platforms preferred
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
- Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Occasional travel required between buildings and sites
- Ability to maintain and manage confidential information
- Must be 21 years of age or older (state regulation)
- ServSafe or Food Handler’s Card preferred
- Must pass a background check
- Willingness to obtain forklift certification, if required
- Must obtain all applicable state-required permits, licenses, and certifications
