About the Role
Responsible for executing, monitoring, and training inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy. Supports pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. Champions On-Shelf Availability and ensures accuracy of planograms.
In designated stores, as required, opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start-ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day.
Responsibilities
- Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, and file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
- Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications impacting front end and pharmacy on-hand balances and pricing.
- Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience when serving as the leader on duty.
- Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.
- Scan in all deliveries while the vendor is still in the store, including common carrier deliveries, and take appropriate action for undelivered or inaccurate orders.
- Under the supervision of the pharmacist-in-charge, verify all pharmacy shipments, complete postings of pharmacy orders, perform tote audits, and report shortages or damaged product.
- Complete On-Shelf Availability (OSA) end-to-end process for planogrammed departments, including disposals, call-ins, vendor returns, and scan outs.
- Under the supervision of the pharmacist-in-charge, complete pharmacy inventory activities such as recalls, vendor returns, and non-controlled or damaged salvage returns.
- Facilitate excess inventory returns or interstore pharmacy transfers for non-returnable overstock and verify posting of all pharmacy/prescription claims.
- Execute all pricing activities including price changes, markdowns, and markdown deletes, and ensure accurate pricing with correct signage.
- Support front end and pharmacy ordering, monitor pharmacy manual orders, maintain consigned inventory, and ensure designated pull & quarantine items are updated.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts for basic departments, stockroom, overstock locations, and pharmacy smart counts.
- Ensure the store maintains inventory compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
- Assist in maintaining inventory records, including receiving and posting of all products, and organize files for invoices, receipts, and return authorizations.
- Prepare for physical inventory and support physical inventory day activities, including auditing the third-party team.
- Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, and assist with all package delivery activities.
- In designated stores, when serving as the leader on duty, register all related sales on the point-of-sale system, handle scanning errors, price verifications, and customer refunds.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
Qualifications
- Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Must have a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi-task and manage execution.
- Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
Pay
Salary Range: $18 - $21 / Hourly
