About the Role

Responsible for executing, monitoring, and training inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy. Supports pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. Champions On-Shelf Availability and ensures accuracy of planograms.

In designated stores, as required, opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start-ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, and file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
  • Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications impacting front end and pharmacy on-hand balances and pricing accuracy.
  • Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience when serving as the leader on duty.
  • Model and share customer service best practices, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
  • Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.
  • Scan in all deliveries while the vendor is still in the store, including common carrier deliveries. Focus on One Box receiving and take appropriate action for undelivered or inaccurate orders.
  • Under the supervision of the pharmacist-in-charge, verify all pharmacy shipments, complete postings of pharmacy warehouse orders, ABC prescription and OTC orders, secondary vendor orders, flu and dropship orders, and perform tote audits.
  • Complete On-Shelf Availability (OSA) end-to-end process, including disposals, call-ins, vendor returns, scan outs, and pharmacy scan outs.
  • Under the supervision of the pharmacist-in-charge, complete pharmacy inventory activities, including recalls, vendor returns, non-controlled and damaged salvage returns, and facilitate excess inventory returns or interstore pharmacy transfers.
  • Execute all pricing activities, including price changes, markdowns, and markdown deletes. Ensure accurate pricing with correct signage and timely completion of regulatory pricing tasks.
  • Support front end and pharmacy ordering, monitor pharmacy manual orders, maintain consigned inventory, and ensure designated pull & quarantine items are updated and placed in the holding area.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts for basic departments, stockroom, overstock locations, and pharmacy smart counts under the supervision of the pharmacist-in-charge.
  • Ensure inventory compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records, organizing files, and retaining invoices, receipts, and return authorizations.
  • Prepare for physical inventory and support physical inventory day activities, including auditing the third-party team.
  • Support keeping all counters and shelves clean and well merchandised.
  • Assist and coach store team on package delivery activities, including scanning packages, completing daily inventory functions, and package returns.
  • In designated stores, when serving as the leader on duty, register all related sales on the assigned point-of-sale system (POS), including handling scanning errors, price verifications, refunds, cash drops, and providing change.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

Qualifications

  • Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Must have a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
  • "Achieving expectations" rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi-task and manage execution.
  • Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable of all store systems and equipment.

Training & Personal Development

  • Attend company-based trainings for continuous development and complete all e-learning modules, including safety training requirements.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.

Communications

  • Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members by coaching and developing capabilities with inventory systems.
  • When serving as the leader on duty, communicate assigned tasks to team members and report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Pay

Salary Range: $19 - $22 / Hourly
