Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Inventory Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and effective operations by managing deliveries, inventory, and equipment. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing documentation records for deliveries and inventory transactions
- Maintaining accountability for tools, equipment, and supplies
- Ensuring a clean and organized storeroom and Shipping/Receiving areas
- Ordering parts and equipment as needed and maintaining optimized reorder points
- Maintaining strong inventory accuracy and resolving issues
- Reviewing and handling obsolete parts
- Participating in shutdown planning and updating part availability
- Operating the forklift for parts movement
- Supporting periodic inventory audits
- Maintaining the Bar/QR code labelling program
- Coordinating with mobile/EZMax Mobile devices and conducting Maximo training
- Understanding plant processes and coordinating with other teams
- Maintaining a team environment and promoting POET values
- Maintaining safety and environmental compliance
- Ensuring food safety and quality
Qualifications & Skills
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with maintenance management systems like Maximo
- UpTime Elements Maintenance Reliability Certification or equivalent
- Forklift certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computerized accounting systems
- Self-starter with collaborative skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and critical thinker
- Honesty, confidentiality, and ethical behavior
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Innovative mindset and willingness to learn
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Occasional lifting up to 60 pounds
- Climbing stairs and ladders
- Bending, twisting, and turning while lifting light weights
- Data entry for extended periods
- Standing for extended periods
- Pushing tools and equipment
- Using hand and power tools
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Working in various environments including plant, laboratory, and office
- Exposure to high noise levels, moving machinery, dust, extreme temperatures, and chemicals
- Driving POET vehicles
