Inventory Specialist

About the role

This role involves responsible work in the operation of a moderate to large size warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Receives and properly stores a variety of supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks.
• Enters requisitions and receipt of supplies into a computerized inventory system.
• Performs daily cycle counts.
• Purchases, receives, secures, and issues non-stock items.
• Assists in quarterly and year-end inventory counts.
• Operates small to medium sized forklifts and small to large sized trucks.
• Maintains a clean and safe storeroom and work area, including outside yard/property.
• Repairs small tools, such as saws, weed eaters, pressure washers, etc.
• Performs related work as required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of warehousing methods and procedures.
• Knowledge of a variety of materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Ability to make arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to work with a large and complex computerized inventory system.
• Ability to keep inventory and stock control records and to prepare reports.
• Ability to operate a computer terminal to maintain inventory and stock control.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Qualifications

Physical Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication.
• Ability to climb, bend, stoop, walk, and squat frequently.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to climb a flight of stairs.

Education, Training and Experience

• Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• One (1) year of experience in warehousing which includes inventory and record keeping.

Licenses, Certifications or Registrations

• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
