Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and coordinate material handlers to support daily shop priorities
- Work directly with production, the master scheduler, purchasing, and the operations team to ensure material availability
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system for sheet goods, extrusions, hardware, fabricated parts, consumables, and WIP
- Receive, issue, transfer, and adjust inventory using proper ERP transactions and approved processes
- Perform regular cycle counts and inventory audits for all inventoried items
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and work with the appropriate team members to correct root causes
- Maintain bin locations, material identification, min/max levels, and item information as directed
- Monitor incoming materials, production shortages, and job staging requirements
- Cook up movement of raw material, fabricated parts, and finished goods throughout the shop
- Use Excel to build and maintain inventory reports, shortage lists, count sheets, and tracking logs
- Communicate shortages, overages, damaged material, and schedule risks in a timely manner
Requirements
- A high school diploma - Required
- An associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field - Preferred
- A minimum of 2 - 5 years inventory, warehouse, or material handling experience in manufacturing - Required
