About the role

The Inventory Specialist at Hy-Vee is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, ensuring materials and finished goods are prepared, shipped, and received on time. This role coordinates with various departments to support overall plant goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all daily operations in the warehouse, including shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and inventory control.
• Captures and reconciles purchase orders, makes adjustments as needed for proper payment.
• Coordinates and communicates with Production, Process Pro, Purchasing, and PDI to manage timely loading and unloading of inbound and outbound shipments.
• Holds team accountable for following all policies, quality processes, and procedures.
• Implements process improvements to enhance productivity and workflow.
• Fulfills safety regulations and ensures adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Follows all Company policies, quality processes, and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be physically capable of performing medium work, including moving up to 65 lbs. of force.
• Must be able to complete a forklift certification program.
• Must uphold product quality through proper rotation and handling.
• Must adhere to safety regulations and demonstrate knowledge of safety processes and procedures.
• Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Must be able to solve practical problems and perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Must have basic computer skills and be able to operate power industrial trucks.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• At least one to three years of relevant work experience.
