About the role

We are looking to hire a detail-oriented, driven, and resourceful professional to support the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Procurement groups with inventory coordination, shipping, receiving, and other responsibilities to ensure safe and efficient inventory operations. This role will assist warehouse and inventory operations while maintaining quality and minimizing unnecessary costs. The position requires approximately 85% travel to remote warehouses for inventory actions and physical counting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist all shipping and receiving operations to guarantee inventory integrity through enforcement of inventory management policies.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Receive and count stock items, arrange dispatching of parts, and record data manually or using a computer to maintain an up-to-date inventory count and critical spares inventory at or above minimum allowed quantity.
  • Run inventory reports, compare them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
  • Check parts received and communicate with shop inventory personnel to rectify problems such as damage, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
  • Examine contents and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials to domestic locations as needed.
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Work with the safety department to report, repair, and replace broken tools.
  • Ensure the safe shipping, loading, receiving, and unloading of all items using manual, motorized, or other equipment.
  • Operate a forklift for uploading and offloading parts.
  • Operate cranes and rigging as needed.
  • Interface with technicians and other team members requesting parts to ensure appropriate authorization prior to releasing items.
  • Effectively communicate with others and work both independently and on a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Complete and perform necessary certification (and recertification) training to utilize equipment as required.
  • Maintain daily and weekly cleaning of the shop and work area.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4+ years' experience in Warehouse Coordination / Inventory control.
  • Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Forklift operator experience.
  • Knowledge of security and safety operations and procedures.
  • Capable of immediately responding to emergencies to provide necessary assistance.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with other areas to achieve goals and objectives with minimum direct supervision.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and complete tasks independently, meeting goals and deadlines on your own initiative.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Smartsheet, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Must maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license.

Physical requirements and working conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and use standard warehouse equipment, including a computer. Requires stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry 50 pounds, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Frequent standing, walking, and extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. This position requires operating a company vehicle; candidates must have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record. A pre-employment MVR check is required, and the employee must remain insurable under the company’s liability insurance policy to continue employment.

Physical Qualifications

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Ability to operate in varied environmental conditions, including extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting.
  • Potential exposure to loud noises, heat, outdoor elements, or other occupational hazards.
  • Some work may occur in industrial environments where strict safety protocols must be followed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean/Operational Excellence standards and practices (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
  • Crane Operator/Rigging experience.
  • Knowledge of or experience using inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of or experience using financial/accounting systems.
