About the role
The Inventory Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting uninterrupted recycling and manufacturing operations at American Iron & Metal (AIM).
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and reorder points to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Execute RFQs, evaluate quotes, and issue purchase orders based on price and lead time.
- Maintain accurate inventory data in Maximo through cycle counts and physical audits.
- Track purchase orders, deliveries, and returns while resolving discrepancies.
- Partner with operations and maintenance to anticipate needs and communicate timelines.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in inventory, purchasing, or materials management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience managing inventory counts, reorder points, and purchase orders across a high-volume parts environment.
- Working knowledge of inventory systems (Maximo preferred) and comfort using Excel.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing priorities independently.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and effective communicator with operations, maintenance, and vendors.
