About the role

An Inventory Specialist works with and reports to the General Manager and is responsible for HUB operation while performing assigned duties.

Responsibilities

  • Pull and ship HUB orders on time.
  • If a HUB order can’t be filled, call the servicing store before the next HUB run to explain how to reorder.
  • Complete all parts department cycle counts, including OUTS, with the store management team.
  • Work with the store management team to complete all parts department plan-o-grams.
  • Stock all parts department parts with the store management team.
  • Complete all parts department callbacks with the store management team.
  • Complete MAXI changes in the parts department with the store management team.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required training materials and attend all scheduled store meetings.
  • Train and develop Team Members, under the General Manager’s direction, to ensure HUB operations align with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate through the General Manager for product delivery, inventory maintenance, record-keeping, and daily transaction records.
  • Ensure compliance with established security, customer service, and record-keeping policies and procedures.
  • Perform key holder responsibilities, including task assignment, safety, and open/close duties.
  • Immediately report any violation of company policy or procedure to the General Manager and/or District Manager.

Requirements

  • Competency in oral and written communications and basic math computations.
  • Prior retail experience, including basic merchandising and inventory management skills.
  • Ability to drive a forklift (if certified and applicable) and use a hand truck and pallet jack.
  • Professional demeanor, neat appearance, and ability to interact with the public in an unbiased manner.
  • Demonstrated work stability and performance results.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and come to work on short notice.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Physical Demands

  • Almost constant standing or walking.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Good manual skills, including gross and fine finger dexterity.
  • Ability to reach above shoulder level.
  • Capability to squat, bend, and reach.
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

Work Environment

  • Inside environment approximately 95% of the time; store is air-conditioned or heated depending on the season.
  • Exposure to battery acid (eye protection and aprons recommended when handling batteries).
  • Adherence to safety precautions when operating a forklift or hand pallet jack.
