Inventory Specialist 1
ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an on-site Inventory Specialist 1 to support a variety of parts and material needs for small electric vehicles, construction equipment, line trucks, and aerial devices.
About the role
This position involves identifying, researching, sourcing, receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking repair parts, materials, tools, and equipment. The role requires knowledge of stocked items and the ability to locate and issue specific items requested by end users. The Inventory Specialist will also serve as a parts runner, picking up orders in the local area from various vendors and suppliers, and may conduct annual or periodic inventory at maintenance shops within the service area. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Vancouver, WA.
Responsibilities
- Support parts and material needs for small electric vehicles, construction equipment, line trucks, and aerial devices.
- Perform OEM and aftermarket parts research, VIN/serial number lookup, mechanic support, vendor coordination, order tracking, returns, credits, warranty items, core returns, stockroom organization, and inventory control.
- Serve as a parts runner, picking up merchandise from local warehouses, manufacturers, and retail stores.
- Monitor and track parts/material orders; resolve order delays, issues, or client questions.
- Provide recommendations for improving organizational processes, procedures, and practices.
- Receive, verify, stage, and stock incoming shipments and materials; check and record quantities for conformity to purchase orders.
- Track items in the stock room through proper organization and labeling; record and report shortages and discrepancies.
- Issue required components and materials as requested.
- Communicate over the phone, in person, or through email to coordinate returns, rejections, and credits.
- Pick up/deliver vehicles to/from internal customers or external vendors (e.g., dropping GSA vehicle off at vendor for Upfit).
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, secure, and safe parts area.
- Perform data entry and parts/materials research.
- May perform inventory support at shops within the service area on an annual or sporadic basis.
Note: This position does not involve material handler duties such as operating forklifts, working around high-voltage equipment, or working with machinery with moving parts.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Inventory Management, Inventory Control, Purchasing, Computerized Logistics, or related fields is preferred.
- Experience requirements:
- With a Bachelor’s degree in applicable fields: 6 months of supply chain and/or logistics experience.
- With an Associate degree in applicable fields: 2 years of supply chain and/or logistics experience.
- Without a degree or with a degree not in applicable fields: 4 years of supply chain and/or logistics experience.
- 3 years of experience in automotive warehouse operations, including OEM/aftermarket parts identification, VIN and serial number research, electronic parts catalogs, fleet maintenance practices, equipment identification, parts sourcing, vendor coordination, inventory systems, and customer support.
- Knowledge of shop safety regulations and emergency procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience in fleet maintenance organizations, automotive dealerships, heavy-duty truck dealerships, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, utility fleets, municipal/public fleets, and direct mechanic support.
- Experience with Asset Suite Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required; work sponsorship is not available at this time.

Pay
$24.74 - $30.50 per hour
