Inventory & Procurement Specialist

Position Overview

The Inventory & Procurement Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting purchasing activities, analyzing product pricing and margins, and ensuring the efficient flow of products throughout the supply chain. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, sales, and vendors to optimize inventory performance and profitability.

What You'll Do

• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders from start to finish.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels based on sales demand and business needs.
• Communicate daily with domestic and international vendors regarding pricing, lead times, product availability, and shipment status.
• Monitor open purchase orders and proactively resolve delays or supply issues.
• Work closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Warehouse teams to ensure timely product availability.
• Review inventory reports and purchasing recommendations to support replenishment decisions.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and item data within the ERP system.
• Aid with vendor performance tracking and continuous process improvements.
• Resolve invoice, pricing, and receiving discrepancies with vendors and internal teams.
• Support new product launches and vendor onboarding as needed.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of purchasing, buying, procurement, or inventory replenishment experience.
• Experience working directly with vendors and suppliers.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using an ERP system.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.

Preferred

• Experience purchasing consumer products, home goods, building materials, outdoor products, or durable goods.
• Experience in wholesale distribution or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of inventory replenishment and purchasing best practices.

Physical Activities

• Daily activity includes but is not limited to:
• Lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting.
• Reading, communication, simple math.
• Standing on a fatigue mat in a specific area throughout a 10 hour+ shift.
• Occasionally lift and move items up to 25 pounds.
