Inventory Manager
About the role
The Opportunity The Inventory Manager is responsible for ownership of all inventory systems, controls, and processes. This role ensures accuracy, visibility, and integrity of inventory across all locations, including Chicago and Miami. This role owns inventory accuracy, system integrity, and quality control of all rental products, ensuring items meet company standards for rental readiness. The position manages cycle counting, system updates, transfers, and product disposition while working closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure alignment between system data and physical inventory.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Inventory Systems and Control
- Own and manage all inventory systems (WMS/ERP)
- Maintain system integrity through accurate transactions and reporting
- Establish and enforce inventory control procedures
- Serve as subject matter expert for inventory systems
- Cycle Counting and Accuracy
- Develop and manage cycle count programs
- Analyze discrepancies and lead root cause investigations
- Partner with Warehouse Manager to resolve variances
- Maintain inventory accuracy metrics
- Inventory Transactions and Updates
- Ensure accurate processing of all inventory transactions
- Oversee system updates for receiving, transfers, and adjustments
- Maintain accurate product data and locations
- Inter-Location Transfers (Chicago ↔ Miami)
- Manage and track inventory transfers between locations
- Ensure accurate documentation and reconciliation
- Cook up with Logistics and Warehouse teams
- Resolve transfer discrepancies
- Product Disposition and Quality Control
- Own quality control standards for all rental inventory
- Classify items as rent ready, cleaning required, repair/refurbishment, or discard
- Establish product condition standards
- Cook up with QC, Warehouse, and Repair teams
- Track damage, loss, and lifecycle trends
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Warehouse Manager to align physical and system inventory
- Ensure alignment between physical inventory and WMS
- Cook up with Miami Inventory Manager for consistency across locations
- Partner with Director of Inventory on strategy and reporting
- Communicate inventory risks and discrepancies
Qualifications & Experience
- R e q u i r e d
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- 3–5 years inventory control or operations experience
- Strong experience with WMS systems
- Experience with cycle counting and inventory accuracy programs
- Experience managing multi-location inventory
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- PREFERRED
- Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday Frequently required to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted; team lift required for items exceeding 50 lbs. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights consistent with warehouse racking environments Must be able to operate powered industrial equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks. Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods and move throughout a large warehouse facility
