About the role

The Inventory Data Analyst ensures all locations properly manage inventory to maximize profits and customer service. This position consults company representatives on proper business practices in inventory management and operations, including prevention, identification, and disposition of excess inventory. The analyst acts as a change agent for promoting new inventory disciplines and culture, and works with cross-functional teams to develop programs that increase operational efficiencies based on past, present, and future data trends.

Responsibilities

  • Enforces Motion's inventory policies and procedures in daily communication with field leadership.
  • Understands data governance and controls distribution of company inventory data points.
  • Ensures full compliance with audit policies of the Obsolescence Program and Physical Inventory / DC Mock Inventory.
  • Identifies new insights and trends to solve complex supply chain problems.
  • Creates automatic dashboards using current or future tools.
  • Collaborates with all areas of the supply chain to identify and understand inventory opportunities.
  • Builds simulation models to forecast outcomes of changes to policies or procedures.
  • Delivers comprehensive reports in presentation or written format.
  • Works with the IT Department to enhance current and future inventory systems.
  • Creates and delivers critical inventory trainings.
  • Supports excess inventory initiatives.
  • Participates in the annual inventory business plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, analytics, or equivalent field work experience.
  • Experience managing projects.
  • Background in quantitative thinking and statistical data analysis.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and SQL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Powerful presentation skills with advanced PowerPoint design knowledge.
  • Experience with data BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc.).
