Inventory Control: Team Lead (Shift 3B: Wed/Thurs/Fri Nights)
Job Summary
The Inventory Control Team Leader maintains in-depth knowledge of our products and operating procedures and stays in regular contact with the shift manager and peers in each department to meet daily goals. This position identifies operating issues and takes corrective action as needed; this includes receiving and providing clear directions and serving as a role model of our culture to effectively communicate with employees and drive engagement.
Responsibilities
Leadership: Assist leadership in overseeing daily operations in the department to ensure a high level of productivity and quality while achieving operating goals; promote team adherence to Company policies and procedures.
Closely with management to monitor and provide consistent feedback to employees on individual and team performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
In collaboration with leadership, conduct daily team meetings to update employees on work expectations, task assignments, best practices and operating expectations.
Clearly communicate team goals, resolve problems as they arise, and answer any related questions.
Maintain a high level of communication with departments and management daily; partner with other team leads to flex labor hours where necessary.
Serve as a resource for all employees regarding job tasks, company policies and procedures and warehouse initiatives.
Report personnel issues to the department leadership to enable timely resolutions.
Process: Manage the department's workflow daily, working with leadership to adjust to labor availability as needed. Ensure a high degree of accuracy and quality in all work completed by the IC team, using internal audits to identify mistakes and training opportunities. Work to identify trends in building processes that result in inaccurate or ineffective inventory management, assisting leadership in solving those issues.
Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.
Experience
1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required.
Education

Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding.
