Inventory Control Supervisor

The Inventory Control Supervisor oversees personnel, equipment, and inventory to meet daily productivity goals and timelines, ensuring inventory accuracy through monitoring, movement, and coordination of physical inventory and systems like High Jump. This role directs all associates in the site’s Inventory Department, acts as the site’s quality assurance, safety, and training representative, and ensures compliance with customer and site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accuracy of all inbound and outbound inventory via audits and cycle counts.
• Report unsafe conditions to the Operations Manager or General Manager.
• Ensure associates receive safety training, if applicable.
• Open and/or secure the building and conduct security audits as required.
• Direct inventory staff to meet customer expectations.
• Review and maintain hours in the timekeeping system.
• Communicate issues as required.
• Oversee the returns and damage area daily to ensure completion of product put-away.
• Maintain carton inventory, if applicable.
• Lead root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies, including research and resolution.
• Ensure associates follow all CPs, K-WINs, Standard Work (KQMS), EIP, LM, LEAN, and Six Sigma.
• Consolidate quality hold product, if applicable.
• Coordinate zoning of physical inventory and investigate causes of mixed stows.
• Coordinate stow consolidations to create warehouse space as needed.
• Organize and oversee physical inventories as directed by the customer.
• Proactively communicate issues/concerns to appropriate management.
• Prepare and process daily reports.
• Manage and issue mid-year and annual reviews.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university and/or a minimum of 5 years of prior experience in inventory planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous supervision, team lead, or management experience of hourly warehouse/operations employees.
• Experience with high-volume receiving and distribution production for a large broad-line warehouse network.

Travel

This position is expected to travel approximately 25% or less. A passport is not recommended but not required.
