Inventory Control Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through systematic cycle counting
  • Support Lean manufacturing principles by ensuring accurate inventory data
  • Perform daily cycle counts using ABC classification or other Lean prioritization methods
  • Reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records; investigate root causes
  • Ensure proper material location and labeling to support 5S and visual management principles
  • Assist with physical inventory audits and participate in Kaizen events related to inventory accuracy
  • Operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack) safely and in compliance with company standards
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure seamless integration of inventory control processes
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management
  • Provide training and support to team members on inventory control best practices and procedures
  • Ensure accurate inventory records and transactions within the ERP system
  • Perform regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits to maintain data accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions
  • Generate and maintain inventory reports, metrics, and documentation
  • Assist in improving inventory management processes and best practices
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • MS Excel skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing inventory processes including cycle counting, stock control
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze inventory data
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with IATF / ISO16949 standards is an asset
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle EBS, SAP, etc.) and basic Quality Standards

Qualifications

  • Associate degree / Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of Lean principles, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with cycle counting programs and physical inventory audits
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with IATF / ISO16949 standards is an asset
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle EBS, SAP, etc.) and basic Quality Standards
