Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking an Inventory Control Associate for our Visalia, CA location. This is a second shift role, with hours of Monday through Friday, 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

About the role

The Inventory Control position within the warehouse is responsible for ensuring inventory item attributes and supporting information is accurate and maintained in the warehouse management system. The Inventory Control Associate will work closely with Returns personnel, all team leads, the Warehouse Manager, and Branch Manager to assist with resolving inventory-related issues, questions, and inventory-related training.

Responsibilities

  • Cubiscan and capture item attributes for all new items, vendor-changed items, or items missing necessary information.
  • Perform escalated cycle count tasks.
  • Reconcile and research lost inventory report and locked cases report.
  • Perform re-slotting tasks as identified by report.
  • Reconcile items listed in the negative on-hand reports.
  • Address overflow stock issues.
  • Monitor dynamic bin availability.
  • Correct inventory assignments for items not in designated areas.
  • Replace damaged bins as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • 2+ years of distribution, warehouse, and inventory experience, or equivalent combined inventory management/distribution-related education and experience, is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, ability to operate a Windows-based computer and perform data entry.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work well with others and independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and problem-solve.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong project management and customer service skills.

  • Repetitive motion: reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying.
  • Regularly lift/move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 70+ pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs, balance, stand/walk on concrete floor for extended periods.
  • Bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching.
  • Ability to work long hours as needs arise.
  • Ability to work at a desk throughout the day.
  • Frequent use of hands for writing and computer keyboard.

Equipment Used

  • Forklift machinery (ability to operate or acquire operator license).
  • RF Scanner and bar code scanner.
  • Windows-based computer (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, printer, scale, tape gun.

Work Environment

  • Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday.
  • Working more than 40 hours per workweek may be required.
  • Work will be performed indoors in a relatively temperature-controlled climate where moderate heat, cold, or humidity may be experienced.
  • Moderate exposure to dust and dirt may also be expected.
  • May require handling of products with cautious warning labels.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
